Frequently Asked Questions

You should see a podiatrist if you are experiencing foot, heel, ankle or lower leg pain, discomfort, or mobility issues that aren’t resolving. Podiatrists are skilled in treating ingrown toenails, warts, hard skin and corns, to name but a few. A podiatrist can also help with foot issues related to diabetes, arthritis, sporting injuries and more.

Whether you have a sudden injury, chronic condition, or concerns about your foot health, our experienced podiatrist is here to provide assessment and diagnosis, foot care and personalised treatment plans.

CBR Podiatry conducts comprehensive biomechanical assessments to evaluate how your gait may affect other areas of your body. With a deep understanding of foot and lower limb anatomy, podiatrists diagnose foot conditions, identify potential underlying health issues, and provide appropriate treatment plans.

You don’t need a GP referral to book an appointment with a podiatrist. You can book online and bring any relevant scans or information along to your first appointment. If you’re a patient with a chronic medical condition such as diabetes, your GP may issue you a “Referral Form for Individual Allied Health Services” for your podiatry care. Please email this to info@cbrpodiatry.com.au before your first appointment. You’ll then be eligible for a small Medicare rebate for some appointment types.
No, however, if your GP has issued you with a “Referral Form for Individual Allied Health Services under Medicare for patients with a chronic medical condition and complex care needs,” you will be eligible for a small Medicare rebate for some appointment types. See your GP for more details and email the form to info@cbrpodiatry.com.au before your first appointment.

We accept all health funds. We also use HICAPs to process your health insurance rebate on the spot.

Please bring the following to your appointment (if applicable):

  • Referral form from your GP (if issued with a referral form for a chronic medical condition)
  • Your private health fund card
  • Relevant specialist reports and/or imaging scans
  • Shoes you wear most frequently
  • Older shoes showing wear patterns
  • Shoes you wear when experiencing discomfort
  • Current and previous orthotics

It is preferable to wear shorts if you are attending for a biomechanical assessment (i.e. heel/arch pain).

We are often able to manage ingrown toenails conservatively without surgery. If so, we treat ingrown toenails non-surgically by using specialised instruments to trim the edge of the nail and remove the ingrown spike of nail. If, however, you require nail surgery, you’ll be offered a surgical appointment soon after.

The first appointment includes taking a detailed history, neurological and vascular assessment, on-the-spot treatment or a recommendation regarding your next treatment steps.

Yes. We offer a wide range of orthotics to suit your unique requirements. Custom-made orthotics can provide support and comfort to your feet while effectively managing persistent foot, ankle, or leg pain.

Our experienced podiatrist will take the time to explain the unique advantages of each type of orthotic and assist you in finding the best option for you. Our range of orthotics includes custom-moulded, heat-moulded, and off-the-shelf prefabricated orthotics. We even offer orthotics for high heels and fashion shoes.
